Nurturing Young Minds: 2025 Summer Youth Enrichment Camp

This summer, A Twist of Faith Outreach proudly hosted our Summer Youth Enrichment Camp, a joyful and impactful program dedicated to helping children grow academically, creatively, and socially.

From colorful art projects to engaging reading activities and hands-on math games, our camp gave students the opportunity to learn, express themselves, and build confidence in a nurturing, faith-rooted environment.

Creativity in Action: Arts & Crafts

During arts and crafts, our campers had a blast combining creativity with a little bit of engineering! One of the most exciting projects was building their own rocket ships — but with a fun twist.

Each rocket had to safely hold a marble inside, which represented an astronaut. The challenge? Design the rocket in a way that kept the marble secure during takeoff (and a few pretend crash landings!).

Using paper, tape, recycled materials, and a lot of imagination, the kids:

• Thought carefully about shape, padding, and design
• Built and decorated their own rockets — each one unique and full of personality
• Redesigned their rockets until it landed safely

This simple activity helped campers think like engineers, solving problems, and trying again until they are successful. And best of all, every marble-astronaut made it home safely!

Math Activities

Math became one of the most exciting parts of the day thanks to our hands-on, engaging activities. Instead of just doing worksheets, our campers explored numbers using physical math blocks — colorful tools that made math easier to see and touch.

With these blocks, students were able to:

• Build numbers and break them apart to understand place values
• Practice addition and subtraction by physically moving pieces around
• See how multiplication and division work using groups and rows

These simple tools helped bring math to life, especially for visual and hands-on learners. Paired with fun games like math bingo and team challenges, students gained confidence while having fun.

Faith, Fun, and Friendship

At the heart of our camp was a focus on faith and values. Each day began with a special Bible study session, where campers came together to learn about God’s love, explore meaningful scripture, and talk about how faith can guide our everyday lives.
